Orbital Transfer Simulation in GMAT

Orbital Transfer Simulation in GMAT (General Mission Analysis Software)

The General Mission Analysis Software (often referred as GMAT) is an open source software developed by NASA, which can be used for space mission analysis for eg; orbital transfer maneuvers, collision observations, etc.

This software can be downloaded free from the NASA software catalogue.

The following video demonstrates a simulation of a simple orbital transfer from a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) to a Geosynchronous Equatorial Orbit (GEO) of a space craft using 2 propulsive burns.

Reach out to us if you have any questions regarding this simulation, or any other simulations including control systems and FEA in general.

Future with Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to transform many industries in the future. From healthcare to transportation and manufacturing to finance, AI has the power to automate tasks, improve efficiency and productivity, and free up humans to focus on higher-level work. However, the widespread adoption of AI also raises concerns about job displacement and the potential for biased algorithms. It's important that we address these issues and ensure that AI is developed and used in a responsible and ethical manner. In the future, AI could revolutionize industries by automating tasks and improving efficiency. For example, self-driving cars could significantly reduce the number of accidents on the road, improving safety and reducing the cost of car ownership. In healthcare, AI could assist doctors in analyzing medical images, freeing up their time to focus on patient care. And in manufacturing, AI could take over routine tasks, allowing workers to focus on more complex tasks such ...

Thermal Analysis of a PCB Board and CPU

Here's a tutorial video on how a thermal analysis (Ansys) is done on a PCB with a CPU and 4 memory chips. The main heat sources are the internal heat generation within the chips. All modes of heat transfer are considered and radiation is considered to be taking place within an open enclosure. Initially, a steady state thermal analysis is done and then a heat sink design is proposed and analyzed as a solution to overheating. Finally, a transient analysis is done to find the time taken to cool down from a certain temperature. Let us know in the comments below if you need any assistance or have any questions.
